The Haunting of Taylor House

About the Story

The Story

When Emily Taylor inherits her late Aunt Emmaline's secluded farmhouse in Langston, she sees it as an opportunity — financial freedom, a fresh start, a chance to rebuild her life after years of struggle. What she does not expect is what the house has been waiting to reveal.

From her first night in Taylor House, strange things begin to happen. Objects disappear. Warnings appear in places they shouldn't. Old family journals surface with entries that raise more questions than they answer. And through it all, there is the unmistakable sense that she is not alone.

The Taylor family bloodline carries a history that does not rest easily — and the closer Emily gets to the truth, the more she realizes that some legacies must be faced before they can be put to rest.

The Setting

A House That Remembers

Set in the fictional town of Langston — a small Kentucky community with deep roots and long memories — Taylor House is as much a character as any person in the story.

The old farmhouse sits at the edge of the property, half-hidden by trees, surrounded by land that carries its own weight of history. Every room holds a story. Every shadow has a purpose.

Tonya draws on her deep knowledge of Central Kentucky to create a setting that feels entirely real — atmospheric, specific, and alive with Southern Gothic detail.

The Mystery

Secrets That Refuse to Stay Buried

The mysteries of Taylor House unfold slowly — in the discovery of journals, in unexplained events, in the testimony of townspeople who knew the house's history long before Emily arrived.

The supernatural elements are woven carefully into the narrative, creating a story that feels genuinely unsettling without ever losing its emotional grounding.
